Ryan Bertrand: England must Believe

Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand says that England can certainly go into the Euro 2016 with the belief that they can win the title.

England will certainly not be considered as favourites to win the title after having not come anywhere close to winning a major honours since the World Cup 1966. Even at the last World Cup in Brazil, the team was knocked out of the group stages after once again performing in a very poor fashion. Things are slightly different ahead of the Euro 2016 England have qualified for the tournament by winning all the qualification matches.

Their moral also received a major boost after beating Germany in a recent friendly game. Bertrand has come a long way since being an underdog at Chelsea. Despite making his debut for the club in the Champions League final of all matches, he found it difficult to get first team action with a great player like Ashley Cole in front of him. He decided to leave the club and join Southampton for around £ 10 million. His resurgence at the south coast has been so great that England have decided to call him up for the national team on a regular basis. Bertrand is seen as the natural replacement for Leighton Baines, though fans might do well to use a sunmaker gutsheincode if they fancy a bet on him taking Baines' place in the next England Squad.

"We'll definitely be one they have an eye on and rightfully so. We've had some fantastic performers in the league all year round and hopefully we can continue that and things will look up for us.We've got players who've been right at the top this year and been there consistently, so we're blessed in that sense. Hopefully we can cause some trouble. We are capable of winning it, but that goes for a lot of other teams in the competition. It all comes down to who wants it more," said Bertrand.
